Construction Drawings
Also called ‘approval’, ‘permit’ or ‘contract’ drawings, these are the detailed drawings that are reviewed by the engineer for structural soundness, and by the building department to approve in terms of the local building code. Any changes required at this point are incorporated into the final drawings that will be used by the contractor to build the project. Many contractors will not provide a final bid until they have this set of drawings in hand.
Construction drawings for some projects may be fairly simple, and consist of only 15 or so drawings, but in some projects the additional detail drawings and special requirements may produce 30 or more interrelated drawings. Any major changes requested at this stage may cost a great deal in drawing time, and re-engineering and approval of the changes can delay the project by weeks, For this reason, Arrow-wood works closely with you in the earlier phases to avoid the need for changes, and works closely with our engineers and with local officials.
