Modern

The timber frame tradition never died out in Europe, so timber construction there evolved with architecture and the Modern movement. As a result, recently built timber structures in Europe are often very avant-garde.

We are proud to be partnered with one of Spain’s more noted residential architects, Alberto Rubio, who works in a unique ‘organic’ style that evokes birds in flight and ocean waves. His homes are in two groups: a white-and-tile Mediterranean-inspired treatment that would suit southern California, the south-west, Florida and the Caribbean; and a more mountain-rustic look with dry-laid stone, natural wood and copper roofing that would suit the northwest, the mountains and any inland location.

We also offer architectural designs that are in the modernist and post-modern traditions, that use timber as a primary component in open, clean-lined structures, with dramatic combinations of wood, steel, glass, stone and tile.
